I’ve compiled a list of the best memes from people doing the bernie. This is just a sampling, but feel free to do your own research and find more gems like these!
It’s been said that “do the bernie” started out as an in joke on social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter before becoming popularized by Vine videos. Although many have their opinions about what it means when you do this dance move, some say it has ties with Black Lives Matter because most instances are done in unison while chanting “Black lives matter”. Other rumors include that “doing the Bernies” was created by Bernie Sanders himself when he was a student at the University of Chicago.
