Don’t Be Afraid to Ask For What You Want

When you’re a kid, it is easy to get what you want. All you have to do is ask for it! But as we grow up and enter the world of adulthood, this strategy doesn’t always work so well. It seems that adults are taught from an early age not to be selfish or rude. They learn that asking for things will make other people mad at them or hurt their feelings. The truth is – if someone says no, they’ll say no anyway!

Something else that might happen is people will say yes to appease you but then not follow through with the promise. It’s a double whammy for anyone who has ever been told “I want.” Asking politely and following up with thank-yous can go a long way in getting what we want, as well as building relationships.

This is the last sentence of this blog post.

to Ask For What You Want

In adulthood, we are taught that being selfish or rude is not the way to go. We’re told it will make others mad at us, hurt their feelings, etc. The truth is – someone who says no anyway! Something else may happen if you ask politely and then follow up with thank-yous: people might say yes just to appease you but never do what they said they would. It’s a double whammy for anyone ever been told “I want.” Asking politely and following up with thanks can go a long way in getting what you really want out of life

It’s easy to get what we want all we have to do is ask for it but as we grow up and enter adulthood sometimes that strategy doesn’t work out so well adults are taught from an early age not to be selfish or rude they learn asking for things will make people mad at them hurt feelings truth is if someone says no theyll say no anyway double whammy anyone who has ever been told “i want”

and then given a look of horror knows this to be true and yet we still ask for things instead in life it is better that you do not take what you want but rather build relationships

Building relationships is better than taking things we need in life and asking other people for it later down the road. (75)

This is not something most adults realize because of how they are raised as children when they were
