The Best Pokemon for the Future: Who’s at #1?

It’s a new year and time to make resolutions! One of the most common resolutions is to get in shape, or maybe “get fit” as it’s known in some circles. But what about our Pokémon? What are their goals for 2019?

The future saga tier list has been updated with the release of new information from the recent November 2018 Nintendo Direct. This update includes Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, plus all relevant information from Generations III-VIII (including Alola Forms), IX, X, and Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee.

This is the future saga tier list for 2019, and these are the best Pokemon available. These rankings take into account a variety of factors, including competitive viability in tournament play (including VGC), usefulness on an adventure as your partner, general utility outside of battle such as movesets or breeding potential, stats that make it stand out from other members of its species…

Here’s what you need to know about how this ranking system works:

Pokemon will always be ranked by their respective tiers because they are all very different from each other even within one specific “rank.” This means that there may not seem to be many differences between two bottom-tier Pokemons like #13 and #14 but there can still be quite a lot of differences between those two

The Pokemon will always be listed in order of their respective ranks with the top tier at #20. This means that there is a difference between being ranked #15 and #19, as you can see below:

● 15) Raticate (VGC Rank): S+

● 19) Nidoqueen (SCR Rank): A-

This also implies that for every rank from B to E there are five different tiers within them so someone like Arcanine (#22), who falls into Tier C+, might end up ranking higher than one single low-tier Pokemon we don’t have room to list here. If this narrows it down too much then click on the link provided at the bottom of this article to see who’s at #100 among all Pokémon.

● 20) Ninetales (VGC Rank): S+

● 19) Nidoqueen (SCR Rank): A-

There is a difference between being ranked in first place and being positioned 10th on this list. As we’ve already mentioned, there are only 20 Pokemon who have been ranked in Tier S+, which means that they’re the best of the best!

● 21) Fearow (VGC Rank): S+

● 19) Nidoqueen (SCR Rank): A-

The rankings from #23 to #34 represent a great leap forward for any Pokémon. It’s not surprising then that these numbers correlate with the number of Tiers found within them: C++ (#23), B+++ (#24), and so on until D-. The higher up you go, though, it becomes more difficult to place each individual Pokémon accurately because some can be better than others depending on what strategies you use o them.

● 23) Dugtrio (VGC Rank): B++

● 22) Golem (SCR Rank): A-

The most interesting part of this list is the difference in ranking between VGC and SCR, which will be addressed later on. For now, let’s continue with our progression through it before we get to Tier Unique…

● 18) Nidoking (SCR Rank): S+

● 17) Vulpix (VGC Rank): C+

Tier D-, where we find Pokémon who are positioned 35th or lower on their respective rankings is a fairly small one – only 20 Pokemon can fit here at any given time. But that doesn’t make them less powerful; if you know what you’re doing, these can be a formidable team.

● 16) Poliwrath (VGC Rank): C+

● 15) Machamp (SCR Rank): A-

It’s important to note that the rankings for VGC and SCR are very different because of how they’re played out differently – special versus singles matches with three or six Pokémon on each side respectively. It makes it much more difficult to compare strength between them in this case!

The top ten positions are now coming into view as we near Tier S – one step away from being able to call ourselves true masters worthy enough of taking on any opponent at their best. Which will take #? Let’s find out…

Tier S: Pikachu

▶ Tier A+: Charizard Y

Tier one has now come to a close as we arrive at the top of the rankings – these are easily some of the strongest Pokémon that there are!

● Rank #30) Ninetales (VGC Rank): C- ▲

● Rank #29) Blastoise (SCR Rank): B- ▼

Now, with those two on our list in addition to all of ours it’s time for tier two. If you’re familiar with any other series then this will be simple because they’re just like their teammates and require no introduction or explanation from us; however if not then let me go over them briefly. ●Rank #28) Lud
